Safety

The entire staff at Bridgecon are committed to the highest standard of safety on all of our work sites.  In our opinion, the safety of our work force and the public should always be the highest priority on any project.

Through constant training and vigilance, Bridgecon earned top honours in 2006 from the Ontario Road Builder’s Association Category I Routly Safety Awards for achieving 458,764 consecutive manhours without a lost-time injury from 1998 to 2005.

Safety is integrated into each phase of our projects from planning, execution to project close out. Our comprehensive corporate Health and Safety Program clearly demonstrates our commitment to safety. The program is used by all individuals in our operations to ensure that all employees and/or subcontractor’s health and safety is protected through awareness, monitoring and verification.

From participation in various Safety Groups and training seminars, Bridgecon prides itself in ensuring that the bar of safety expectations is always on the rise.

In 2017, under the direction of Bridgecon’s Health & Safety Manager, Jennifer Alonzi, P.Eng., Bridgecon Construction Ltd. successfully achieved COR ™ Certification. The Certificate of Recognition (COR™) is a nationally trademarked program administered by the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA) in the province of Ontario. Through well organized and effective teamwork, it provides employers with an effective tool to assess their health and safety management system.

In 2021 Bridgecon Construction Ltd. became an active member of ISNetworld. ISN’s Review and Verification Services (RAVS) verifies and evaluates our health, safety, and procurement information to ensure regulatory and client specific requirements are met.
